A beautiful and warm August day for Sabrina and Sean. Their Queenston Heights Wedding was full of love, happiness, and so many emotional connections. It was important to them to include personal touches throughout their day – from choosing Queenston Heights for Brock’s Monument (they met while at Brock University) to Sabrina wearing the perfume she wore when they first met (and yes, he totally commented on it!) to having her brother and his bandmates from Revive the Rose play during the ceremony.
Sabrina, her Maid of Honour, and their friends were gathered in a suite at White Oaks Spa. They shared a good laugh helping Sabrina open her gift from Sean as it had been sealed shut as the paint dried. She stepped into her stunning wedding dress, put on her veil, and out the door to get married!
Queenston Heights looked incredible with the work done by the Watering Can team! They never fail to impress with the team at Niagara Parks. Sean and his brother/Best Man greeted the guests as they arrived. Their sweet grandmothers were a reminder that a wedding day is just one day out of a lifetime of connections as they looked on with so much love. Sean turned his back until Sabrina made her way up the aisle then couldn’t hold back his own tears as he watched his gorgeous bride. They chose to include a ring warming ceremony, definitely one of my favourites, where the guests all take a moment to hold the rings and send all of their love and best wishes into them. The rings were passed around in a beautiful egg. Their officiant Paul from the Cathy Davis & Co team added some laughs when he pulled out his own personal touch to their ceremony – a stuffed pig! Then the laughs resumed as Sean mistakenly referred to Sabrina as his husband during the vows when he read her portion instead of his. Sabrina didn’t miss a beat and called Sean her wife. After they were officially wed, Sabrina and Sean chose to take a quiet drive alone in the limo to bask in the just married love! I absolutely loved this idea for them!
Revive the Rose serenaded the guests as they mingled for cocktails while we head out for a few quick portraits. Then it was into the reception! Hilarious and heartfelt speeches kept the guests entertained. Sabrina’s brother Jake presented them with a gorgeous wedding gift of a Kintsugi (“golden repair”) plate which is the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold as a way to treat the broken items as part of the history of it instead of disguising it.
After a few quiet moments at sunset with just the newlyweds, the guests gathered outside for a beautiful, sparkler lit first dance.
It was truly a magical day and I couldn’t feel more blessed to have been there to document it! Congrats again you two!! xo
