On their third wedding anniversary, Danielle and Josh gathered with their wedding party, family, and friends in a Niagara on the Lake home they rented for the weekend. After eloping three years before and suffering the heartbreak of a miscarriage, this was to be a new beginning – one to be celebrated with those nearest to them.
With personalized ammo boxes for the gentlemen and Starbucks cups for the ladies, there were cute little details everywhere. As Josh got dressed into his Air Force dress blues, Danielle helped him to tie his tie. “Can I kiss him yet?” she asked as I moved around them photographing the moment. We kept a close eye on the approaching storm, knowing there was no change in location for their First Look. With his proposal and their elopement including Brock’s Monument, it was only fitting to have their First Look there, regardless of what Mother Nature was throwing at us.
The groomsmen finished getting ready and left for the monument, while Danielle and her girls were helping her into her wedding dress. Beyond a First Look with my couple, I always try to arrange for dad to see his little girl in her wedding dress. And Danielle’s dad seeing her for the first time as a bride was as emotional as expected.
With umbrellas in hand, Josh waited on the pathway as his beautiful bride approached. A few quick portraits around the monument before we head back to Niagara on the Lake. Danielle has a deep love for all things Starbucks, so it was only fitting to grab a quick coffee with her bridesmaids.
At the Old Courthouse, their family and friends, many of who had travelled far to be there, watched as they renewed their vows. They added in a hand washing ceremony to begin to symbolize the washing away of the old and painful and beginning new. During their ceremony, the beautiful room brightened as the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and the rain stopped. Stepping outside for the family portraits and a few more of the newly married (again!) couple, their guests enjoyed a bit of the downtown area before the reception.
The beautiful decor was personalized with an Air Force theme – glittered planes adorned each table, a propeller for the guests to sign as their guestbook. And beautiful florals by Lush Florals.
Congratulations again Danielle and Josh! May this new beginning bring you all of the love and happiness you deserve <3
